Dierks School Board accepts resignations; accepting applications for superintendent position
Monday night, the Dierks School Board formally accepted the resignation of superintendent Jody Cowart. Cowart had been in the Dierks School District for 8 years. He was the high school principal for four years and the superintendent for four years. Cowart has accepted the superintendent position of the Centerpoint School District.
Board members accepted the resignation of teacher/coach Chad Lites and teacher Mindy Efird. Both Lites and Efird accepted teaching positions in the De Queen School District. And, Colby Lawer resigned as band director to accept the same position in the Green Forest School District.
Board members also voted to hire Triston Snider and Kenan Owens to teacher/coach positions. Synder student taught in the Dierks School District this year and Owens is from the Glenwood area.
Finally, the board approved Zach Shankles as the district’s School Resource Officer.
