Disturbance call results in drug arrest

On January 27, Nashville Patrol Officer Jackie Thomas responded to a domestic disturbance on 11st in Nashville. According to the affidavit, Officer Thomas was advised that a female caller reported her boyfriend was sitting in a black Nissan Rogue and he had a knife.

The boyfriend was identified as 31-year-old Tyler Kelley of Nashville.

Kelley had been reported missing on January 26 and Lieutenant Clint Tedford had filed a report for a welfare check on Kelley.

When Officer Thomas arrived Kelley allegedly ran toward Officer Thomas, while yelling and waving his arms.

Officer Thomas retrieved a large, dagger from the Nissan Rogue. He also noticed the odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle. The caller, Caysha Terrill reportedly told Office Thomas that she had smoked marijuana in the vehicle.

After receiving information that there may be more drugs in the vehicle, Officer Thomas continued searching and discovered a small, yellow plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a plastic bottle fashioned into a smoking devise that contained a clear liquid.

Kelley was transported to the Howard County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
