Area County Unemployment Rates

Howard County continues to have the 8th lowest unemployment rate in Arkansas.  According to the just released October statistics, the local unemployment number continues at 2.8 percent which is the lowest of any surrounding county.   Hempstead and Pike counties each had an unemployment rate of three and a half percent for October.

In Little River county, the rate was four percent while Sevier county reported the area’s highest unemployment figure at four and a half percent.

Statewide, the October unemployment rate remained stable at three and a half percent according to the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.
