Nashville man arrested for drug possession

A Nashville man was arrested after Nashville Patrol Officer Jarrett Rogers responded to a call at West Sunset Street that involved 52-year-old Charles Ray Jewell. According to the affidavit, Rogers noticed Jewell dragging a push mower from a shed. Jewell reportedly told Rogers that he was hired by the homeowner to mow the yard. Rogers reported that he noticed Jewell’s speech was scattered and his movements were quick and jerky, and Jewell could not stand still in one spot.

Rogers then reportedly asked Jewell if there were any drugs on the four-wheeler he was riding, and Jewel allegedly confessed that there was a smoke pipe on it. As reported, Rogers located the pipe, which had a burnt residue believed to be methamphetamine inside it and he also located a round Harley Davidson tin which contained suspected marijuana. Rogers reportedly checked Jewell through the on-duty dispatch and was told that Jewell had an active warrant for a parole violation and a misdemeanor warrant for non-payment of fines. Jewel was taken into custody, transported to the Howard County Detention Facility, and was charged with possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
