Scrapperettes bring home the win after defeating Pantherettes
The Nashville senior teams traveled to Ashdown Tuesday night to play the Panthers and Pantherettes in 7-4A action.
In the girls’ game, the Scrapperettes jumped on the Pantherettes early and led 20 to 8. The Scrapperettes extended their lead to 24 at the half, leading 40 to 16. In the second half, the Scrapperettes made shot after shot and turned up the defensive pressure to defeat the Pantherettes 70 to 34.
Nashville is now 16-4 overall and 8 and 0 in conference play.
In the boys’ game, neither team had a good first half and the Panthers led 20 to 17 at the half. However, in the second half, the Scrappers stormed back playing stingy defense, while scoring 26 points in the third period to take a 43 to 26 lead. Nashville defeated Ashdown 60 to 40 and improved to 9 and 5 overall and 4 and 4 in the 7-4A conference.
