Principals discuss handbook changes at Dierks School Board meeting

Tuesday evening, members of the Dierks School Board conducted their regular monthly meeting. The board approved to hire Sara Stanley as a paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year as per the salary schedule. 
JoAnn Walters Elementary Principal Craig Dodson reported that the handbook changes have been updated. Dodson added that they completely turned over the master schedule and how happy he is with it.

Board President Jaron Tipton requested that the room numbers be removed from the handbook. Laykon Graham suggested that handbook policy for both the High School and Elementary be in sync and have similar guidelines.

Testing Coordinator Crystal Smith discussed some of the changes that’s been made in the Dierks High School handbook. 

After further discussion, the board approved a motion to approve both handbooks for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Additional motions that were approved were the ASBA policy, district policy updates, the calendar adjustments which states that parent teacher conference will be March 18th, 2025, and inclement weather day on March 21st, 2025. The board also approved the high school curriculum quote for $35,141.25 from McGraw Hill that will be paid out of ESSR funds, milk/bread bids for 2024-2025, and the grocery bids for 2024-2025 school year.
