Area District Tournament will resume this week

The Arkansas Activities Association announced Friday afternoon that it has delayed the regional and state tournament start up dates by a week to give conferences a chance to complete their district tournament, which were brought a halt by last week’s snow and bitterly cold temperatures. Regional tournaments will now be played March 3rd through 6th. All state tournaments will be played March 8th through 15th, with the state finals now scheduled for March 18th through 20th.
With the changes, the 7-4A has gone back and rescheduled their district tournament, with games being played this week. The Nashville Scrapperettes are the number seed in the girls bracket and will play their first game Thursday evening at 6 o’clock, against the winner of the De Queen/Bauxite game, which takes place tomorrow.
In the boys bracket, the Scrappers are the number three seed and will play Bauxite Tuesday at six p.m. in Scrapper Arena.
The tournament games will be played Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the the highest seed’s location.
