Mineral Springs Purchasing Generator
The Mineral Springs City Council has voted to proceed with the purchase of a generator that will serve the fire department and water tower. Mayor Steve Dixon said the generator will allow uninterrupted water service for residents during a power outage along with keeping the fire station operational as well.
The purchase price will be 69,777 dollars. The city will only have to use 15,000 dollars of local money for the project. The remaining portion is coming from a state grant.
Work on installing the new generator should begin sometime next month.
