Nashville Junior Scrappers Triumph Over Bauxite Jr Miners in High-Scoring Clash

In an electrifying matchup on Thursday night, the Nashville Junior Scrappers secured a commanding 56-34 victory over the Bauxite Jr Miners.

The game kicked off with the Miners striking first, scoring a touchdown but missing the extra point. Scrapper quarterback Jacoby Hopson quickly answered back with a touchdown of his own, followed by a successful extra point from Bayron Marillo, putting Nashville in the lead.

Hopson continued to shine in the second quarter, adding another 16-yard touchdown and converting a two-point attempt, extending the Scrappers’ lead to 15-6.

Despite a subsequent touchdown from Bauxite, which also missed the extra point, the Scrappers maintained their composure. An intercepted onside kick attempt by Scrapper Bryce Ramsire shifted momentum back to Nashville, leading to another touchdown from Gauge Applegate and a successful extra point, bringing the halftime score to 22-12.

The third quarter saw more back-and-forth action. Hopson scored yet again, but the extra point was missed. Bauxite responded with a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion. Nashville’s Trendon Northcross then found the end zone, converting another two-point attempt, but the Miners managed one more score before the quarter ended, leaving the score at 36-28.

In the final quarter, Hopson’s determination led to another touchdown, widening the gap to 42-28. A crucial fumble recovery by the Scrappers’ defense resulted in Northcross scoring again, although the extra point was no good. The Miners managed one last touchdown, but the Scrappers closed out the game with a final score from Northcross, sealing the victory with Ramsire making a successful two-point conversion.

With this win, the Nashville Junior Scrappers showcased their offensive skills and resilience, finishing the game at 56-34.

The Junior Scrappers are now 4 and 0 in conference and 5 and 2 on the season. They will play home this Thursday night against the Ashdown Jr Panthers. Kick off is set for 7pm and B 99.5 will have the live coverage.
