Scrapperettes defeats Lady Panthers on Senior Night
The Nashville Scrapperettes and Scrappers hosted the Magnolia Lady Panthers and Panthers on Tuesday for a Senior Night showdown in their latest conference matchups.
In girls’ action, the Scrapperettes delivered an impressive performance, building an early lead and never looking back. By the end of the first quarter, they led by 13 points with a score of 23 to 10. The dominance continued in the second quarter, as the Scrapperettes extended their lead to 32 points, finishing the half 47 to 15.
After returning from the locker room, the Scrapperettes continued their strong play in the third quarter, pushing the score to 65 to 30. They carried that momentum into the fourth quarter, sealing a 75-38 victory.
Sofia McCauley was named the game’s most valuable player, finishing with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Other key contributors included juniors Karstyn Scrivner with 18 points and Angel Watson with 11 points, as well as sophomore Ava Basiliere, who also added 12 points.
The Scrapperettes are now 20-7 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
In boys’ action, the Scrappers battled hard but fell short, losing to the Panthers 60-50. Despite the loss, the team continues to show resilience as they sit with a 12-6 overall record and a 5-3 conference record.
Top scorers were juniors Demetrus Shelley with 15 points and Johnte Taylor with 12 points along with senior Kasen Morgan who scored 11 points.
The Scrappers will look to bounce back tomorrow as they travel to Lake Hamilton for another matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
