Blevins BETA Club Hosting Bake Sale and Raffle to Raise Funds for Nationals
With National BETA Convention just around the corner, the Blevins BETA Club is baking up some support from the local community. On Good Friday, April 18th, the club will host a bake sale at Diamond Bank in Nashville, with all proceeds going toward travel expenses for students headed to Nationals in Orlando, Florida this June.
KMTB and KNAS recently sat down with Andrea Woodruff, BETA Sponsor at Blevins, along with BETA Club seniors Keyla Diaz and Faith Cruz, to talk about the fundraiser and what the BETA program means to them.
Woodruff described what BETA is all about—recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and service—and shared how many students are currently involved in the club at Blevins.
She also gave details on the upcoming fundraiser.
Senior Faith Cruz, who has a strong passion for art, shared her excitement about heading to Nationals once again. This will mark Cruz’s second year attending Nationals, and she says the experience has been both inspiring and motivating.
Fellow senior Keyla Diaz reflected on her academic journey through BETA, specifically her participation in the Spanish test competition.
In addition to the bake sale, the BETA Club will also host a raffle to help raise more funds. Diaz provided a look at what’s up for grabs.
Cruz then shared details on ticket pricing.
The raffle drawing will take place on May 13th, and all proceeds will help send the Blevins BETA team to compete at Nationals in Orlando on June 22nd.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, grab a treat, and help these students reach their goals on the national stage.
