Scrapper Defensive Coordinator Leaving

The Nashville Scrappers football team will have a new defensive coordinator entering the 2020 season. Richard Strickland, who has held the position the last two seasons, was hired Thursday to be the new head coach of the Paul Pewitt School District,located in northeast Texas at Omaha.

Prior to coming to Nashville, Strickland had extensive coaching experience as an assistant and head coach in Texas. He was part of multiple state championships in his previous coaching stops. In his two seasons at Nashville, he was in control of defenses that helped the Scrappers to a combined 21 and five record.

The local district is expected to begin an immediate search to fill the coordinator’s position.
