Local Tax Revenues Increase From Previous Year

Online sales are being credited for a substantial boost in local sales tax revenues during May.

Nashville finance director Kimberly Green says the city’s sales tax increased 27 percent this month as compared with the May 2019 figures. This year’s figure is nearly 33 thousand dollars higher than last year.

On the county level, Howard county’s sales tax revenue increased 25 percent, or about 18 thousand 400 dollars, from a year ago.
