Hempstead County Authorities Investigating Dog Bite Incident
Hempstead County authorities are investigating a dog bite incident. Deputies were dispatched to Highway 73 West, when a passing motorist reported two Pit Bulldogs attacking an individual. By the time the passerby turned around, another man had arrived and was pulling the dogs off the victim, who was identified as 61 year old Charles Edward Nash. He was treated at the scene by medical personnel & then airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock for treatment of his injuries. From his hospital room, Nash told deputies he was walking along the east bound shoulder of the highway, when the dogs came from behind a mobile home and attacked him.
The dogs were seized by animal control officers in Hope at the request of deputies, as the investigation is continuing.
