A two-vehicle accident in Pike County claimed the life of a Havana man.

Wednesday morning, 58-year-old David Crum of Havana was traveling east on U.S. Highway 70 West just west of Kelly Road in Pike County in a 2021 Peterbilt truck and 49-year-old Charles Willis of Amity was traveling west on U.S. Highway 70 West just east of Kelly Road in a 2020 Kenworth.

Both were attempting to negotiate a curve, when Crum lost control of his Peterbilt, causing him to travel left of the center line. Crum’s truck then struck the left front of the oncoming Kenworth.

Crum was pronounced deceased and his body was taken to the Smith Family Funeral Home. Willis was transported to CHI St/ Vincent in Hot Springs.
