FUMC donates to Scrapper Supermarket
The Scrapper Supermarket has received a donation in the amount of $12,650 dollars from Nashville’s First United Methodist Church. The presentation was made last week. The supermarket serves all pre-k through 12th grade students in the Nashville district. Students through the 6th grade grade get pre-packed bags of food each week throughout the school year, while the junior high and high school students are allowed to shop in the supermarket once a week. Students are not limited on the items. With community financial support, like that received from the Methodist Church last week, the supermarket is able to purchase food from multiple sources and are fortunate enough to stay fully stocked.
In addition to the food items, donations also allow the supermarket to provide hygiene products for students.
The Scrapper Supermarket made its debut in the fall of 2018.
