Thunderstorm in Southwest Arkansas leaves swath of damage
A swath of damage occurred late Friday night night from a single thunderstorm in southwest Arkansas. A survey team from the National Weather Service in Shreveport visited Little River County Saturday and determined straight line winds were as high as 90 miles per hour in areas from near Foreman to Fulton. In addition to trees being damaged, there was also damage reported to some utility poles. Structural damage was mainly confined to shingles or other roofing.
There was also damage found from a short lived tornado that was 5 to 6 miles southwest of Ashdown, Tree damage was the only reported from the brief tornado, which has been rated an EF-1, with 90 miles per hour winds.
