AAA announces new classifications and conferences for the upcoming 2024-26 cycle

Less than a week removed from the completion of the 2023-24 basketball season in the state, the Arkansas Activities Association board of directors unanimously approved the new classifications and conferences for the upcoming 2024-26 cycle.

The new cycle will be the first with the new competitive equity factor that is calculated every two years as well as the implementation of class 4A changing to eight member conferences. Both of those changes were voted on and approved by the AAA member schools at last summer’s governing body meeting.

The 7-4A Conference will feature Nashville, De Queen, and Hope along with Camden Fairview, Arkadelphia, and Magnolia. Prescott, and Ashdown are in the 7-3A conference. Dierks, Murfreesboro, Horatio, will remain in the 7-2A Conference along with Caddo Hills, Cutter-Morning Star, Spring Hill and Mountain Pine. The 7-1A Conference will feature Blevins, Kirby, Mineral Springs, and Umpire along with Mount Ida Nevada County, and Oden.
