Amity resident charged with felony battery

An Amity resident has been charged with a felony battery count following an incident last month that led to a struggle with Glenwood police. 29 year old Edward Shay, the 4th, was arrested January 8th. During the incident, authorities said Shay became combative after disregarding officers commands. Two officers received minor injuries while struggling with Shay.
He was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Pike County Jail. In addition to the felony battery charge, Shay was also cited for misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
