April weather report

Through the early part of April, temperatures had a difficult time reaching the 80 degree.  By the afternoon of April 22nd, temperatures had climbed to their highest level so far this year, with a high temperature of 84 degrees.  Last month also saw several mornings with below normal temperatures.  A couple mornings last month also had a scattering of light frost, but the coldest reading last month found its way below freezing, with a reading 31 degrees for the month’s low, recorded on April 9th. 

As far as rainfall is concerned, April finished just slightly above normal, with 5 and 86 hundredths inches recorded.  Just under 5 and three quarters inches would be normal for the month. 

Last month’s rain brings the year to date total to slightly more than 18 inches of rain received in 2022.  The normal year to date amount through April would be right at 19 inches.
