Area Covid Update

51 students in the Nashville School District were affected yesterday Covid-19. That number includes 18 students who tested positive and 33 others reporting close contacts. According to district officials, their number of teachers testing positive for Covid was two. Numbers from the past few days are dramatically lower than around the middle part of January, when many districts in southwest Arkansas opted for a few days of virtual learning.
County numbers also continue trending downward in the active case count. Howard county’s active total was 270, which is a decrease of 25 from the previous day. Pike County has the area’s lowest active case number at 174, while Sevier County has the highest, at just over 500.
