Nashville Man Sentenced On Manslaughter Charge

A Nashville man charged in 2018 with Manslaughter in the death of a two year child has been sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.  27 year old Richmond Jacobs received the sentence Wednesday in Howard County Circuit Court after he entered a guilty plea to the charges.  Authorities said Jacobs had been caring for the child at a residence.  He told police he left the child alone for a moment and walked into another room, when he heard the child fall.  Later that day, the child was transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and died a few days later.  Medical examiners said the child had multiple internal injuries that were not consistent with a fall.
Along with the six year prison sentence, Jacobs was also given an additional four years suspended.
