Area first responders worked scene of fatal vehicle accident

Tuesday afternoon a one vehicle crash in Saratoga killed a Texarkana man and left another injured. According to the preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2008 Ford F-250 was northbound on Highway 355 leaving Saratoga in Howard County when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over. Killed was passenger Walter Rivers, 67 of Texarkana. Injured was Sam Sims, 63, of Texarkana and another passenger was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in Hot Springs. 
The unnamed driver was not injured. Trooper Joshua Broughton investigated the situation. Responders were from the Saratoga, Tollette, and Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire Departments, Howard County Sheriff’s Office, Mineral Springs Police Department, and Pafford EMS.
