Area Towns Awarded Grants From State Parks System

Officials with the cities of Dierks and Glenwood have been awarded grants this week by the Arkansas State Parks system.

The city of Dierks will use 80 thousand dollars to grade existing baseball fields for improved drainage. Other ball field work will include sodding and repairing the infield and seeding the outfield areas at the city park.

At Glenwood, nearly 68 thousand dollars will be used to repair damage caused by past flooding and improve drainage to prevent future flooding in the Glenwood City Park.

Grants received by both communities are on a matching basis.
