Arkansas Offers Free Fishing Weekend June 6-8

It’s time to grab your fishing pole and head to the water! The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is inviting everyone to enjoy Free Fishing Weekend, taking place from noon on Friday, June 6
through midnight Sunday, June 8. During this special weekend, both residents and nonresidents can fish anywhere in Arkansas without a fishing license or trout permit. It’s a great opportunity for beginners to try out fishing or for experienced anglers to enjoy a few days on the water with family and friends-completely free of charge.

While no license is required, all other fishing regulations for Arkansas waters remain in effect, including daily catch limits, slot limits, and length restrictions. This annual event is part of the state’s effort to encourage outdoor recreation and introduce more people to the joys of fishing.
