Arkansas State Police Vehicle Stolen After Individual Slips Cuffs

A press release from the Arkansas State Police indicates that Monday afternoon 23 year old Jabaurri Martin of Houston Texas made his way into Arkansas driving a stolen pick-up.

Martin was pulled-over by state police at approximately 12:30pm along U.S. Highway 67 just north of Texarkana. After being handcuffed and placed inside the troopers vehicle Martin was able to free himself of the restraints and proceeded to drive away in the troopers vehicle.

This lead to a manhunt that ended just east of Texarkana where the state police vehicle was found abandoned. Martin was later found and taken into custody without incident.

He is being held in Miller County Detention Center and charged with theft by receiving, 3rd degree escape, and theft of the state police patrol vehicle.
