Nashville Public Works Project Updates

Nashville Public Works Director Larry Dunaway updated the city council, at this week’s meeting, on a couple of projects planned at the water plant. Bids have been received for upgrades to the chlorine generator and line work, however were over budget. The loan approved for the project is just over one million dollars and the low bid totaled two million dollars. Dunaway will be meeting with the city’s engineer soon to further discuss expenses. He also shared information concerning repairs and upgrades to the spillway. A loan has been approved for up to $623,000 and additional mitigation funding is available to extend the spillway concrete. The council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor as a signatory agent and to execute documentation to apply for loan assistance under the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.
