Ashdown resident killed in a train accident

Tuesday night an Ashdown resident was killed when his vehicle was struck by a KCS train in Little River County.

78-year-old Charles ‘Buddy’ Young of Ashdown was driving his 2013 Chevy Equinox north on Highway 71 when he failed to yield at a railroad crossing. Young’s vehicle was struck by a KCS train.

Young was pronounced deceased at the Little River Memorial Hospital by Dr. Crawford.

The accident was investigated by Ashdown Police Department, Sergeant Robert Hendricks.
