ARDOT officials remind political candidates about sign placement

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation are reminding political candidates and their supporters that it’s unlawful to place any campaign signs on highway right of ways.  Laws permit only official directional, informational, or regulatory highway signs along state owned highway property.  Local offices in charge of area maintenance will remove all other signs.

ARDOT personnel will remove any political yard type signs placed on the right of way and will contact owners of the larger billboard type signs.  Owners will be able to pick up their signs during normal business hours from the Maintenance office within their respective county.
