Bake-off results from Dierks Pine Tree Festival
One of the things the Dierks Chamber of Commerce did this year at the 49th annual Pine Tree Festival was bring back the bake-off.
The following individuals were awarded prizes in several categories with Linda Staggs being the overall winner with her peach jam.
Mary McCullough won first place in the fruit/nut pie division with her pecan pie, while Staggs took second with her pecan pie.
Lana Holley won the fried pie division with a fried apple pie. Launa Simmons won the cream pie division with a lemon meringue. Laci Wright won the cake division with a honey bun cake. Britni Fannin won the refrigerated desserts division with a key-lime pie
Holley won the cookie division with a Heath bit surprise cookie, second went to Wright for her chocolate chip cookie and Kathryn Teague placed third with her brickle cookie.
In the jams and jelly division, Staggs won first place and Holley placed second with her pepper jelly.
