Baseball Scrappers open season with win
In the Covid-19 shortened season of 2020, the Nashville Scrappers baseball team opened the 10 game season with a one run win over Magnet Cove. The 2021 season began yesterday at Wilson Park, as Nashville destroyed Magnet Cove, 17 to nothing. The game was shortened to five innings, as the Scrappers scored all 17 runs within the first three innings.
Even with baseball activities shut down completely a year ago, Coach Slayton says his team is probably a little ahead of most other squads:
Nashville will host the 17th annual Ralph Gross Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Scrappers are scheduled to open the tournament against Fouke.
