Benton woman sentenced to ADC for probation violation

A Benton woman has been sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department on a probation violation. 28 year old Lauren Helmsderfer was given a five year probated sentenced on theft of property charges February 20th in Howard County. Authorities say she failed to report to her probation officers in April, and was arrested on methamphetamine possession charges the next month in Hempstead County. Helmsderfer’s three year sentence was imposed Wednesday in Howard County Circuit Court.
Also sentenced yesterday was 42 year old David Rhodes. He was given a three and a half year sentence for violating a suspended sentence he received in 2017. Authorities say Rhodes violated that sentence by being arrested earlier this year on a charge of theft by receiving in Pike County. Rhodes was sentenced in Pike County on those charges Monday.
