Bradley woman charged with drug possession in Pike County

On December 15th, 2023, Pike County Deputies Wayne Epperly and Jason McDonald were dispatched to a single vehicle wreck at the intersection of US 70 West and Arkansas State Highway 369 South in New Hope, which is in the judicial boundaries of Pike County.

According to the affidavit, when deputies arrived they spoke with a female who was the passenger in the car. The suspect’s name was 42 year old Charlotte Lean Charlton of Bradley.

It was reported that as Epperly was processing the scene, Charlton was trying to get things from the vehicle. Charlton was then told by deputies to stay out of the car, due to the driver fleeing the scene and it is now a crime scene. After being asked what was taken out of the car, Charlton informed deputies that she took her purse, a small makeup bag, and a Walmart.

Epperly then searched the car and the items Charlton removed from it. Epperly reportedly located a small clear crystal-like rock inside the Walmart bag. Epperly then began to reportedly search the car and located a magnetic box with suspected methamphetamine residue inside of it along with a small plastic bag containing suspected marijuana underneath the passenger floor mat. Charlton was charged with possession of a controlled substance meth and marijuana.
