CADC accepting 2024 LIHEAP program applications to assist families
The Central Arkansas Development Council’s 2024 LIHEAP assistant program will begin at CADC on January 8th. The program assists with paying utilities and will also provide crisis assistance. LIHEAP, or Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, uses federal funds dispersed by CADC to lower the energy burden for households by helping with home energy bills—heating costs during the winter and cooling costs during the summer for those who qualify as funds remain available.
The office will only accept applications on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from the hours of 8:30 to 12pm. Documents needed are a driver’s license, social security cards for all members of the household, proof of income from the previous month, and utility bills. If you have not worked, you will need documentation from the Workforce office stating that. If you have signed up for social security, you will need proof of that as well. Lastly, if you receive utility assistance checks you cannot apply.
