Car Theft in Nashville, suspect charged

On October 16th, Nashville Officer David Shelby took a report of a stolen vehicle.  The car owner said he walked outside around 6:00 am and noticed his 2002 Honda Accord car was missing.  The car owner told Officer Shelby that he believed that the person responsible for taking his car was someone he recently got into an altercation with. He also let Shelby know that he has seen this person walking past his home on several occasions.  The suspect was identified as 47 year old Allen Markcum of Nashville.  Markcum went to the police station and admitted going to the car owner’s home around 4:30am that same morning, but said he got permission to take the car.  Markcum was charged with theft of property.
