UAEX Howard County to offer two farm programs

The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in Howard County has scheduled two upcoming events that may be of interest to local ranchers. A free on-farm bangs vaccination clinic will be offered on November 5th. All heifers ages 4 to 12 months are eligible for the program. Calves must be penned and cattle owners must have working facilities.

The other event is a private pesticide applicator training and forage producer meeting, which is scheduled for November 13th at 10:30 a.m. at the UA Cossatot Nashville campus. Cost is $20 and lunch will be provided. Topics will include hay quality, hay feeding practices, winter annual, and electric fencing.
