Charges filed against two Nashville residents

A Nashville man has been charged after authorities say he allegedly pawned a stolen pistol. 41 year old William Witherspoon is charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons. Last November, Nashville police say they took a report of a pistol being stolen from a residence. Authorities say Witherspoon was known to have been at the residence. Police say he was charged with the weapons possession count due to having a previous felony conviction.
Also yesterday, authorities filed felony Second Degree Forgery charges against 70 year old Jackie Thomas, Sr. of Nashville. The charges are related to a vehicle reported stolen last month from Bentonville. GPS was used to track the vehicle to a residence in Nashville. Local police say they went to the home on Pope Street and found the car at the residence. Thomas was arrested there after telling police he agreed to take possession of the vehicle and sign a different person’s name on the paperwork to complete the purchase of the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe.
