City of Dierks seeking applications for police officer

The Dierks City Council has voted to seek applications for positions within the police department. At the conclusion of a 45 minute special meeting Monday evening, the council voted to receive applications for a police chief and a patrol officer. Mayor Ronnie Cogburn said the city is looking for someone who is certified through the law enforcement training academy and has at least five years experience.
For the police officer position, Cogburn said the law enforcement certification is preferred, but not required.
Applications for both positions will be accepted until 3 p.m. on April 19th.
