City of Mineral Springs applying for $4 million grant for water and sewer system upgrades
The Mineral Springs City Council Special Meeting took place Tuesday evening on September 26th.
Mineral Springs Mayor Vera Marks has been working on the ARPA funding application for the sewer collection system replacement. Mineral Springs qualifies for 75% grant and 25% local match.
Marks suggested applying for a project that will cost approximately $4,000,000, leaving the city to come up with approximately $1,000,000 in cash or loan money to pay for the 25% portion.
The cost is going towards replacing their aging sewer collection system, including 156 manholes and 58,000 L.F. of gravity sewer mains.
The board members of the Mineral Springs City Council approved the ANRC proposal.
