Coach Volarvich speaks at Nashville Rotary Club meeting
Nashville head football coach, Mike Volarvich was the guest speaker at the Nashville Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday.
He started by explaining the Arkansas Activities Association’s Zero Week.
Volarvich reported the team attended eight team camps and 7-on-7 camps, this past summer. He said 52 players went through fall camp, including 15 seniors.
The Scrappers will host the Magnolia Panthers Friday night at 7:30 pm. Volarvich said the Panthers were 6 and 6 last year, however, four of their losses were to non-conference opponents. He said they went 5 and 1 in conference play and advanced to the second-round of the playoffs where they lost to eventual state champion, Pulaski Academy. Volarvich said he feels his team is ready after watching their effort against Lakeside last week.
Volarvich also discussed how numbers have decreased since 2015.
He also mentioned that three former Scrappers are now on the coaching staff. They are Kirby Adcock, Eric Perez and Paul Morrow.
