De Queen Chief of Police Suspended to start the new year

De Queen’s police chief begins the new year on an unpaid suspension. Mayor Jeff Brown announced Thursday the suspension for Chief Scott Simmons on a personal matter unrelated to Simmons’ capacity as police chief or related to any city business.
City officials say there’s no determined time period for the unpaid suspension.
Offer Sonny Kimmel has been named as interim police chief until Simmons returns to work.
