Dierks Board Looks At Proposed Elementary Project

Earlier this week, the Dierks school board received an update on the proposed elementary school classroom building project from the construction manager Michael McGrew of Clark Construction.

McGrew reported a six room project would cost the district approximately $1.75 million and would take about eight months to complete. He also presented cost estimates to construct four rooms or five rooms. McGrew said the district would only save about $300,000 if they built four classrooms instead of six.

Dierks Superintendent Jody Cowart reported the district would have about $300,000 left over from the bond funds for other district projects. He also reported the district had $1.1 million dollars in the building fund that could be used to complete some of the other projects.
