Dierks School Board hires new assistant football coach
Tuesday night during the Dierks School Boards regular monthly meeting, the board accepted the resignations of Crystal Reid as a paraprofessional and Karley Stapp as an elementary teacher. The board also approved hiring Lantz Castleman as a teacher and assistant football coach. Next on the agenda was the approval of school choice. It was reported that 17 were coming into the district plus three students that were already in the district which makes a total of 20 students and there was a total of six going out of the district. The board then approved a motion to approve 20 students into the district and six students out of the district by school choice. The board also approved to accept three legal transfers into the district as well.
Additional motions that were made Tuesday night were the approval of the KLC Security new server upgrade in the amount of $22,380.75 that will be paid out of the safety grant, and the approval of the donation agreement to the weight room at the Dierks High School. In conclusion, the board discussed the cafeteria meal prices that will be increased by 25 cents. According to the chart, breakfast for adults will be $2.75, students $1.25, and reduced for 30 cents. The prices for lunch will be $5 dollars for adults, $2.75 for students, and 40 cents for reduced. After further discussion, the board approved a motion to increase the cafeteria meal prices by 25 cents.
