Dierks School Board Meeting
Monday, November 11, the Dierks Board of Education held the regular monthly board meeting.
Superintendent Jody Cowart reported the district’s revenue was down from this time last year, but expects an increase in revenue this month to offset that difference.
Joann Walters Elementary Principal Lori Finley reported the elementary campus is using several friendly competitions to improve attendance, grades and conduct. She stated the blue board competition rewards students for upholding the district’s code of conduct.
High school principal, Todd Finley, reported the district is researching the possibility of starting a robotics program.
Cowart also announced both the elementary and the high had been awarded grants from Weyerhaeuser for technology upgrades.
Board members also approved a $1,000 incentive bonus for all district employees.
