Dierks School District Board Meeting
Tuesday night, board members of the Dierks School District met and voted to approve the transfer of two students into the district from the De Queen School District.
Superintendent Grover Hill informed the board that he would be meeting with the district’s facilities facilitator to discuss the possibility of building on the high school campus that would house the weight room.
Hill stated the booster club has agreed to build the building, but the district would still need to follow the state’s facility procedures before it could be constructed.
Board members passed a resolution to move any funds in excess to $691,000 in the district’s general operating fund to the district’s building fund at the end of the fiscal year.
Board members also reviewed the 2021-2022 audit. The audit had one minor finding. The finding stated the district had over-stated the number of elementary students eating breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. Hill said the district will develop a new system for counting students who will be eating breakfast and lunch.
Hill also announced the 4th through 6th grade classes will be departmentalized this year.
