Dierks School District votes to amend the district’s mask requirement

The Dierks School Board met Monday evening to discuss data that was gathered on mask sentiment and overall safety protocols in place regarding COVID-19 precautions. (Here is Superintendent, Jody Cowart, with the details)

The board voted unanimously approving an amendment which removes the requirement for masks to be worn within the school district. Superintendent Jody Cowart presented data gathered among 74 employees stating that 83.8% voted to end the mask requirement and make it optional. Jody emphasized the continuation of prevention methods and that while no longer required to wear a mask, those that wish to do so certainly can.
