Dierks Water Rate Increase
The City of Dierks recently conducted a third party, independent water rate analysis study regarding the current water rate structure. Results of that study found that the cost to make, treat and supply water to Dierks residents and the current rate charge were off and not enough to cover the costs.
In October, the city council viewed and discussed the rate analysis results and voted unanimously to raise the city’s water rates from the current rate of $4.00 per 1,000 gallons to $6.50 per 1,000 gallons. This rate increase will cover the costs needed to treat the water and supply it to all citizens of the city of Dierks.
The change will be effective December 1st. However, the rate increase won’t be reflected until the January water bill.
