Do Not Dump Trash in Recycling Bin in Murfreesboro

The city of Murfreesboro is putting a plea out to its residents regarding the dumping of trash in the city’s recycling bin. The regional waste management district has been providing recycling bins at Murfreesboro, but recently removed a bin near the old city park due to household trash also being placed there. That has left the city with just one recycling container, located near the former city hall. Mayor Rodney Fagan and the city council are asking residents to only place items for recycling in the receptacle. if the trash dumping continues, the waste management district has indicated they will remove their recycling containers from the city, due to the time required to separate the household trash from the recyclable items.
