DOLLY HENLEY ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR ARKANSAS STATE REPRESENTATIVE, DISTRICT 88
Washington, Arkansas—November 15, 2023—Dolly Henley of Washington, Arkansas has filed her candidacy for Arkansas State Representative, District 88 which comprises parts of Howard and Miller counties and the entirety of Hempstead County.
“I am excited to work for the opportunity to serve Arkansas and all the residents of District 88. It will be the honor of a lifetime to share my ideas with you and ask for your support. As a lifelong resident of Southwest Arkansas, I have the heart and vision to make a difference,” Henley stated.
Henley will be running as a Republican with a multi-pronged platform focused on making Southwest Arkansas an even better place to live and raise a family. Dolly will prioritize quality education for every child and stand behind our veterans, service members, law enforcement and first responders.
She will promote the agriculture industry while servicing all communities in District 88, no matter the size. Henley will advocate for mental health funding, improved access to mental health services, and sustainability of community supported addiction prevention programs. Dolly will be a fierce advocate for job creation and fight for expanded tourism throughout Southwest Arkansas.
About Dolly Henley:
Henley’s resume includes over seven years as Recreation Director for the City of Hope, Arkansas and over 20 years as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Nashville, Arkansas where she created and operated numerous park facilities and programs. She continued her career as Advancement Director at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT), followed by becoming Executive Director for the UAHT Foundation in scholarship development, and finally as the inaugural Director of Hempstead Hall at UAHT where she oversaw the 62,000 square foot conference center and theater, and brought some of the biggest names in the music and arts to the Southwest Region.
Henley currently serves as President of the Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Board, member of the UAHT Foundation Board, member of the Texarkana Symphony Board and serves as the Vice-President of the Arkansas Great Southwest Regional Tourism Association. She is also a member of the Hope Rotary Club, Chairwoman for the James Black’s Bowie Heritage Festival, Vice-President of the Washington Fire Auxiliary, and serves on the City of Washington, Arkansas Planning and Zoning Committee. Dolly volunteers for Hope in Action, a homeless shelter and food bank in Hope, Arkansas and for the Historic Washington Foundation.
