Emmanuel Church of God in Christ Serves Thanksgiving Meal to Inmates at Howard County Jail
On Tuesday, members of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Ashdown, along with Kimberly Dunham, a native of Nashville, gathered to serve a special Thanksgiving meal to inmates at the Howard County Detention Facility.
Pastor Lizzie Williams, leader of Emmanuel COGIC, shared that this marks the 12th year the church has organized this heartfelt gesture. For her, it’s all about spreading love and giving back during the holiday season.
Kimberly Dunham, a member of Eagle’s Wings Outreach Ministries in Texarkana, explained that her family would not be in town this Thanksgiving. In light of that, she felt that volunteering to serve those without family during the holidays was the perfect way to celebrate.
The volunteers’ efforts exemplify the true spirit of Thanksgiving—serving others and making a positive impact on those in need, especially during the holiday season.
